Phil never had anything handed to him

Growing up in Fresno, Phil learned the Central Valley values of sacrifice, hard work, and commitment from a young age.

He was raised by his single mother who worked long hours to make sure her children had the opportunity to get ahead. He was the first in his family to attend college, working minimum wage jobs to pay his own way through Fresno State.

Today, Phil is a, husband, father, small business owner. He’s a fixture in the local civic community through organizations like the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and as chairman of Fresno’s Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee. He’s always willing to go the extra mile for his community.

Phil never had anything handed to him. He understands the struggles working people face when the deck is stacked against them and knows we owe it to our children to make things a bit easier. He’s working hard to level the playing field and create more pathways to opportunity for everyone in the Central Valley.

"Our district needs a representative who is present and invested in this community. I stepped up to the plate so that my kids, so that our Valley, so that you, finally have the voice we deserve in Washington. It is time we capitalize on our potential and seize the greatness the Valley has always had.”

Phil and his wife, Cynthia, live in Northwest Fresno where they’re raising their two children.
